How Can You Join PK?
Palidor's Knights has, traditionally, been a closed recruiting squad. This means that we only give membership to those we specifically prospect. However, that is not entirely the case, as we have several methods you can use to be noticed and considered by the squad.
- Learn the game: Graduates of the @Cadet program who show potential are in a very good position to be invited to PK for 2 reasons:
- Completing the @Cadet program shows that you are serious about the game.
- Simply being in the @Cadet program makes you more visible and will attract talent scouts like vultures, as well as give you a way to interact with at least one member of the squad who is serving as our Cadet advisor.
- For returning vets: let us know you are interested and take some time to get back into the game. Many things are different and some keep changing.
- Fly with us: If you play the game regularly, chances are you'll run into at least one of us. Just jump in and play the game like always. If you want, you can even pm us in game and let us know you're interested. That way we know you want us watching and you know we will.
- Register at the PK site at pk.dras.us.: That will not give you immediate access to the site, but it gives us your name and a heads up that you are interested. We'll make an effort to see you in game.
- Have the right attitude: Squads are a social group. Make sure you're going to be hanging around with the group that resembles your own attitude of the game, and preferably of other things as well. Before you join us, or any squad for that matter, review the information available to you. In this case, read the sections on the Code of Chivalry and "What does PK expect from its members?" and ask yourself, "Do I agree with the spirit of this document?" Is you answer "yes" then PK is probably right for you. Even if you don't agree with everything in the documents, PK will be glad to have you, but the more important thing is to make sure that you will be happy with your choice.
You do not have to be a "vet" to join PK, but you do have to be willing to learn, and if you want a good, solid base of knowledge and skill to start from, join the @Cadet program and talk to us after you have finished. Many excellent skills are taught and reinforced in that program. Visit the FAO forums for details.
Bottom line: If you really want to get into PK there are a variety of ways to do so. If you have questions feel free to email one of our contacts on the contact page and we will help you in any way we can. |
