What Does PK Expect From Its Members?
This section is very similar to the Code Of Chivalry, and like that code, your membership in the squad will not be determined entirely upon your adherance to it. These are simply some guidelines to help you determine the general attitude of the squad as a whole. These views are generally accepted by the Knights.
- Follow the Code of Chivalry: The code is just a set of common sense and
courteous guidelines to guide you. It can even keep you from getting booted by
an admin.
- Participate: Come to squad games whenever possible. No one can be at every
game, and no one will expect you to be at every game, but make an effort to be
there as often as possible. We're only a team if we show up together.
- Learn: Players who are staid and unwilling to learn or accept constructive
criticism, and refuse to make an effort to constantly improve quickly outlive
their usefulness.
- Extend Respect: This goes back to the Code of Chivalry. Respect your squad
mates. It will also frequently benefit you to extend a measure of respect to
your team mates, whether you are playing in a pick-up game or squad match.
People who aren't in your squad are still people. Don't be an ass, and save
your arguments until the game is over.
- Be Versatile: Specialties are always welcome, but do not specialize in one area to the exclusion of all others. A player who can perform a variety of duties will be useful
more often than a player who can perform only one, even if the versatile
individual is only moderately skilled. Take the time to regularly and honestly
assess your skills in all areas of game play. If you are lacking in an area,
concentrate on it until you get better, and never be afraid to ask for
assistance from other squad members.
- Be Honest: Don't say you'll do something when you already know you won't.
In game or out of game. In the squad forums, speak your mind. You won't be
kicked for being honest about your opinions, especially if they are important
to the squad.
- Be Helpful: When possible and appropriate, try to help a new player,
especially one that has done his reading. No one expects you to become a
school marm to newbs, but If you see one that is having trouble keeping up and
you have time, ask him nicely to come with you and nan your bomber, or to grab
a scout and fly eyes for you while you hunt miners together. New players can
learn a lot about this game from shadowing better players, and if they are
going to follow you, they might as well help, right?
